Cloth and glass surfaces each have their own characteristics. Understand what makes them different, then choose the surface that fits how you play.

  • Surface

    Cloth offers varied surfaces that are forgiving, controllable and comfortable, from controlled to fast. Glass is smoother, faster and more consistent — with speed, texture and coating being main defining factors.

  • Speed

    Speed determines how freely the mouse glides, from controlled surfaces with high stopping power to fast surfaces built for quick, effortless movement.

  • Size

    Size comes down to your preference and available desk space, but it can also affect how you play — especially if you use lower sensitivity and need more room for movement.

  • Texture

    Texture affects friction, feedback and stopping power. Rougher cloth offers more feedback and control, while smoother weaves feel more consistent and comfortable. On glass, smoother textures feel more effortless, while rougher textures add resistance and stopping power.

  • Base

    For Clothpads - Softer bases feel more plush and add stopping power, while firmer bases provide a more consistent glide and firmer feel.

  • Edges

    Edge design affects comfort and arm movement. Cloth offers stitched, low-profile and edge-less options, while glass benefits from smooth, rounded or crafted edges to reduce catching and irritation.
